Structure of the Governing Board
Full Governing Board
Core function: Set the strategic plan – including financial plans and how the board will meet its statutory responsibilities. (Meets four times a year)
The Governing Board delegate a range of their responsibilities to our governor teams. All of our teams have clear terms of reference to ensure that the Governing Board meets it’s statutory obligations.
Core function: Provide the Executive Headteacher with support and challenge and to co-ordinate the work of the governor teams and portfolio holders. (Meets half termly)
Education team: Chair – Louise Quincey
Core function: Oversee the quality of teaching and learning and our curriculum and the support and guidance provided for our children to ensure that we achieve our aims. (Meets termly)
Personnel and Performance team: Chair –
Core function: Oversee the performance of our schools and ensure that staffing levels and quality enable us to achieve our aims. (Meets termly)
Resources team: Chair – Alan Morbey
Core function: Oversee financial performance and ensure that efficient and effective use is made of resources. Secure safe environments that support us in achieving our aims. (Meets termly)
The committees delegate a number of their responsibilities to our portfolio holdres. These are individual governors or pairs of governors who work directly with the schools and leadership to ensure that the governor teams fulfil their delegated responsibilities.
Core function: Knowing a federation school intimately – achievement outcomes (inc. disadvantaged), teaching and learning, behaviour and attitudes, use of pupil premium and sports grant, safeguarding and SEND. Monitor and evaluate school improvement. (Meets termly / attends school events)
Core function: Remain up to date on safeguarding, feedback to team and direct / prioritise the work of ‘School Link’.
Core function: Remain up to date on SEND, feedback to Team and direct / prioritise the work of ‘School Link’.
Core function: Remain up to date on Curriculum, feedback to Team and direct / prioritise the work of ‘School Link’.
Personnel and Performance Portfolios:
Core function: Knowing the detail of our personnel systems and processes, particularly with regard to safeguarding. (Meets termly)
Core function: Knowing the detail of our performance management systems and processes and how this is used to secure improvement and professional development. (Meets termly)
Core function: Knowing the detail of our finances and monitor and evaluate the effective and efficient use of our finances. (Meets termly)
Premises and H & S:
Core function: Knowing the detail of our how our premises are maintained, developed and kept safe.
Core function: Knowing the detail of our how we communicate, celebrate our achievements and develop links with the wider community. (Meets termly)
